Goffstown Pinardville New Boston Dunbarton Weare

submitted by:  Peggy Bailey, Director of the Weare Food Pantry

Weare Cares!

Thank you so much for your generosity to the Weare Community Food Pantry.  The Weare Community and others came together to help in time of need in generously giving.  Our hats off to Center Woods Elementary School, Weare Middle School and John Stark Regional High School whose staff and students continuously give above and beyond in helping the food pantry.  Whether it was a young child with loose change, to teens organizing food drives, to staff giving wholeheartedly and volunteering to help.  Serving is a commitment and you should all know that we were able to give each family a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner Basket.

The Weare Community Food Pantry is five years young and continues to serve their community through these trying times.  I am very thankful for all the volunteers who put in countless hours and I would like to extend my appreciation for all their hard work throughout the year.

The Community of Weare pulled together and I must say it is comforting to know that we live among such giving and caring businesses, organizations and citizens!  Many donations for 2009 were made in lieu of gifts for Anniversaries, Birthday Parties, Firework Displays, Pony Rides, Running Marathons, Senior Projects etc.  Each year someone surprises us with their innovative ways of reaching out to us.

We would like to thank the following businesses and organizations for their continued support:

TAX TIPS by Jim Roberge, CPA

April 15 is coming. Are you ready?

Deducting Commuting Expenses for a 2nd Job

By Jim Roberge, CPA

5 March 2010 - With many facing tough times the past couple of years, a lot of people have found themselves needing to take on a 2nd job due to pay cuts at their main job, or maybe start working two jobs to make up for one they lost.  When hard times like this hit someone any little break might go a long way.  That is what gave me the idea of looking into what commuting expenses are deductible.  Normally the costs associated withdriving from your home to your place of employment are not deductible.  However, there are situations where you can take a deduction for commuting expenses.  ...READ THE ENTIRE TAX TIP ARTICLE...  You may send questions to Jim Roberge at AskJim@GoffstownToday.com
