Senior Citizens: Do you get the Center of Gravity Gazette in your mail? This is our monthly newsletter which contains information about programs and events in the community. Contact us to be added to the mailing list. Foot Care Clinic: Usually the first Thursday of each month at the New Boston Community Church for a fee. Appointments are required and can be made by calling (800) 541-4145. Senior Lunches are on Thursdays at the New Boston Central School at 10:50am when school is in session. Lunch cost is $2 (or whatever you can afford). The menu and more information are in the Center of Gravity Gazette or on the school website. ZENgevity: Body, Brain, Balance - Are you ready to change your life, to stay independent, get energized, be strong, be happy and live longer? This fitness program is a combination of gentle and joyful movements designed for ages 50 and better; Open to all fitness levels to exercise mind, body, and spirit. Class is at the Old Engine House on Wednesday, 9:30-10:30am. The current session started May 24 and runs through June 21. Drop-ins welcome for $5 per class.
Yoga: Reduce stress and pain, increase flexibility and strength and learn better breathing techniques. Relax your mind and strengthen your body on Monday at the White Buildings from 6:30-7:30pm. The current session began on May 1 and runs through June 19. Registration is open at our office or online for the next session. Drop-ins welcome for $12 per class if there is space.
Barre Class: This class uses elements from Ballet, Pilates, and Yoga for a muscle toning workout that is low impact. Great for stretching and strengthening your muscles! Please bring a yoga mat and water. Classes are held in the White Buildings. You don't need to take the first session to do the second session. Wednesdays 6:30—7:30pm, Session 1 starts June 21 ‑ July 12 Session 2, August 2 ‑ August 23. Register on line or in person at the Recreation Office.
Foxwoods Trip: Ride to Foxwoods in style. Cost is $30 per person if you register before August 15th. Registration after August 15th is $35. This fee includes transportation (on a nice comfy coach bus), a $15 slot play and a $10 food voucher or free lunch buffet. Bingo, prizes & movie on the bus ride. The coach bus will leave the New Boston Central School parking lot at 8:00 AM and will return around 7:30 PM. Space is limited so register early! You must be at least 21 years old to register for this trip. No refunds will be given after you register.
Adult Softball: For Adults 18+. Join us on the softball field (field behind the town hall). Wednesday Evenings at 5:30pm. Games start on June 28th and run through August 30th. Program is free but please pre-register. We will pick two teams based on who shows up to play each week. Come and play when you can...no weekly commitment. NB Recreation will provide the equipment...just bring a glove! This is a casual pick up type of program so no need to commit to the whole summer. Can't make it until 6pm, no problem, join us when you can. There is no cost but a registration form needs to be on file with the Recreation Department.
Golf: Lessons are at Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown on Wednesday, May 31 and Wednesday, June 7 for ages 6-12. Cost is $20 per lesson. Sign up for one or both lessons! The Recreation Department can provide transportation to and from the lessons. Lesson time is 3:00-4:15pm. Register online or at the Recreation office.
Summer Soccer Camp: Challenger Sports will be running our camp the week of July 17-21 on the town hall field for ages 3-12. Register at www.challengersports.com by June 2 and receive a free jersey (just pay S/H). Host a coach and receive and receive a discount on your fee!
Camp Coolio: We are now taking registrations for 8-weeks of summer fun with kids ages 6-12. We offer field trips, arts & crafts, reading, fun projects, sports/games and theme weeks. Camp starts June 26th and runs Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Register by the day or by the week! Registration Fee is $25. Fees start at $40 per day or $165 per week for residents. There is no camp on July 3 and July 4 this summer. Register at the Recreation office or online at www.newbostonnh.gov/recreation.
Summer Archery: This is a great introduction to archery or to brush up on your skills. “New England School of Archery” will bring all the equipment, you just bring your enthusiasm. Two days are offered this Summer. Tues, July 18 & Thurs, July 20 10am – Noon. Class is held at New Boston Central School. Students must be 7 or older to register. Please visit us here in the Rec Office or register online.
Summer Softball Camp: Yeatman Elite Softball is back in New Boston this summer for the week of July 10-14. Camp is for ages 7-14 and meets from 5-8pm each day on the town hall field. Register at www.yeatmanelite.com
Summer Concerts: Free concerts, on the town common, will be on the following Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm: June 27 (Freese Brothers Big Band), July 11 (Karen Morgan and Pony Express), July 25 (The Bel-Airs), August 8 (Watts Up Band), August 22 (60’s Invasion).
2017 Breathe NH Fun Pass Books: The New Boston Recreation is selling the 2017 Breathe New Hampshire Fun Pass booklets for $35. They are filled with over $1,800 in discounts at your favorite New England children’s attractions. Stop in the office to buy one or contact us for more information.
2017 Discount Tickets: We will have discount tickets available soon for Water Country, Six Flags New England and Funtown/Splashtown. Save anywhere from $8-$22 per ticket! Call our office for more details.
