Goffstown- The General John Stark Scenic Byway needs a logo! Do you have a love for history, culture and/or scenic roads? Do you have a great idea will encompass the spirit of the General John Stark? Would you like to have your logo viewed by, potentially, millions of people throughout New Hampshire, New England and beyond?

The General John Stark Scenic Byway Council is looking for community members interested in designing a logo to represent the Byway. The Council has implemented a contest for best design seeking ideas that will encompass the spirit of the General John Stark while placing emphasis on the built environment and historical aspects of the Byway. The winning design will become the Official General John Stark Scenic Byway logo.

Designs must use information from the General John Stark Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan, located on the Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission’s website (http://www.snhpc.org/pdf/John_Stark_Bywayweb.pdf). All submitted designs must be suitable for public viewing, clear and recognizable at a small size, and suitable for rendition in a monochrome version. Design submissions cannot include blended color schemes, should not include any other words, phrases or numbers, and cannot use or resemble any portion of any other Scenic Byway organizations or historical organizations. Acceptable submissions are computer generated designs in JPG, TIF, or PDF formats. These designs should fit an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, while having a resolution of at least 600dpi.

Designs must be submitted by March 31, 2010 to mbrundage@snhpc.org. “Logo Contest” should be included in the title of the email with the designers full name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, and organization or school they are representing. Decisions will be made by the General John Stark Scenic Byway Council, and all decisions will be final. The winner will be announced and logo unveiled to the public during one of the council’s regularly scheduled meetings or events.

The General John Stark Scenic Byway is a state designated scenic byway. The Byway is a 34 mile circular route that winds through the towns of Dunbarton, Goffstown, New Boston and Weare with many historical, cultural and scenic features. The General John Stark Scenic Byway Council consists of members from each of the four communities.
