OBITUARY: Carol Tasker Day of Goffstown passed away on August 27, 2016 at the Elliot Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a long courageous battle with both Alzheimer’s Disease and cancer. She was born July 9, 1944, daughter of John B. Tasker and Catherine Baker Tasker and was born and raised in Hillsboro, N.H. She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Russell Day of Goffstown, and her children Jennifer Day of Concord, N.H. and son Jeffrey Day and his wife Amy of Goffstown. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Caitlyn, Rachel and Finnian Day all of Goffstown. Carol was a graduate of Hillsboro High School with honors. She also graduated from New England College in 1966. She taught school in Merrimack, N.H. and then moved to Goffstown in1967 where she substitute taught while raising her children and then returned to full time work as a paraprofessional at Goffstown High School with her passion for teaching. Carol was a member of the New Hampshire Society of Daughters of the American Revolution chapter in New Boston, N.H. Carol was past president of the Goffstown Lions Club. She had been a member of the Goffstown Mothers Club. Became a member of the Goffstown Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school classes for a number of years. She was a member of the Goffstown Education Support Staff and N.H. National Education Association. Carol is also survived by an older sister Janet Chang and her husband Fredrick Chang M.D., of Wichita, KS. two older brothers John Tasker, DMV of Silver Spring, MD., and Edward Tasker of Hillsboro, N.H. as well as a nephew and numerous nieces, and her favorite dog, Fergie, "Duchess of Bark." Carol was a faithful follower of the Boston Red Sox, N.H. Fisher Cats and the Monarchs. Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at the Elliot Hospital GPU for their loving and tremendous care given to Carol and family.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at French and Rising Funeral Home 17 South Mast Street Goffstown. Funeral services will be Friday 10:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
