Goffstown (staff editorial) - 16 May 2012: Today, Goffstown's SAU #19 Superintendent arrived at the Mountain View Middle School with Cookies, Soda and flowers for a falculty (Teacher Appreciation Meeting) meeting with staff at the school. Of interest is the fact that Principal Jim Hunt has remained absent from the building since this past Thursday. Just what is going on inside the walls of SAU #19 and Mountain View Middle School? No one knows!
On the Girard at Large Program this morning, host Rich Girard had as his guest at the 7 o'clock hour, Professor Benjamin Hampton. Professor Hampton has submitted his request for an RFP (Request for Proposal) to do a study of just what is and has been wrong with Mountain View Middle School. GoffstownToday.com has learned that the School District has three bids on hand and the lowest bid comes from SERESC for $30,000 plus and the highest bid is for up to $60,000.

Of particular note is the fact that the Goffstown School Board Vice Chairman, Dian McCarthy is employed at SERESC, which her husband denied she was an employee last Wednesday when GoffstownToday.com received a call from her husband. The following is an excerpt in an email response to Rich Girard about her employment status;
"Yes, I do work at SERESC (South Eastern Regional Educational Services Center). SERESC is a fairly large organization with diverse scopes of work that include a conference center, consultants and educationally-oriented grant-funded projects. I am a project assistant for one of the grant-funded projects housed within SERESC. This project, as I'm sure you can see from the website, is not connected to the type of consulting work proposed at MVMS. I have not been part of SERESC's proposal process nor would I be. It is not my role there."
Of note, Dian further states in her response;
"As far as my work on the Board, I have participated in the conversations surrounding the Superintendent's proposal for establishing the School Leadership Team. Thus far, the conversations have been about the merits of the proposal and whether or not we think such a study would be of benefit to the school, the district and the community."
Dian McCarthy has not returned any calls or responded to email request since 10th May according to Girard.
TODAY, Rich Girard filed a request for information directly with SAU #19 Superintendent, Stacy Buckley under New Hampshire's Right to Know Law. Rich States on the Girard at Large blog;
"Because Rich's calls to Superintendent Stacy Buckley of the Goffstown School District regarding the controversies at Mountain View Middle School have not been returned, and because mounting evidence of questionable procedures involving the solicitation of consulting services to evaluate that school has been received, Girard at Large as made a formal request for information under New Hampshire's Right to Know Law. It is our hope to determine whether or not a proper process in indeed being followed." ;
with the following request:
In an attempt to locate a Request for Proposal for the consulting services sought for Mountain View Middle School, I reviewed the attached minutes of the Goffstown School Board's meetings. I have also searched the district's Web site in search of an RFP. And, as you know, I've left two messages for you in the past two days without a return call. As a result, I am sending this Right to Know request under New Hampshire RSA 91-A for the following information:
1) An action of the School Board approving and authorizing the RFP which was apparently used to solicit bids from the three companies listed in the attached minutes.
2) A complete list of any and all public notices posted to advertise this RFP for public consumption.
3) A complete list, including any......" ....READ THE ENTIRE REQUEST....
So, where is all of this cone of silence since 10th May being originated from to cause actions under New Hampshire's Right to know Law to keep the Residents of Goffstown, New Boston and Dunbarton informed?
