Letter to the Editor - Weare resident running for School Board - Town of Weare

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:  Jeff Anderson for School Board

Hello, my name is Jeff Anderson and I am running for one of two positions for the Weare NH school board in the upcoming March election.  I have resided in Weare for over 22 years and am the father of two children who grew up in Weare, were educated in the Weare school system and are now in college.

When my children were younger, I was a volunteer coach for the Weare Athletic Club’s basketball and soccer teams.  I am a supporter of STEM in our schools and I previously coached the Weare Middle School First Lego League team for three years.  I was also a mentor of  the John Stark/Hopkinton Middle High School FRC robotics team (2013-2016) and during that time I was also an advisor with John Stark’s Project Lead the Way program (2013-2016). Currently,  I am a volunteer with First Lego League, serving as a  robot design judge for teams in New Hampshire.

I graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell with a degree in Industrial Engineering and have worked for UPS for 29 years.  During my time with UPS I have learned how to get quality results while also being mindful of the bottom line.  I hope to use this experience with UPS along with my passion for STEM and STEM education to help the school board in giving our children an opportunity to excel while in our school system and beyond.  Thank you for your time, and I’d appreciate it if you would consider me for school board.
