Goffstown - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 8, 2010 - Little feet will fly when beloved children’s performer Judy Pancoast performs in concert to benefit Goffstown’s upcoming 250th anniversary in 2011. The concert will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Rosary Hall at Villa Augustina School in Goffstown. Tickets are $5 each and are available at Howe’s Pharmacy, the Little Round House Gift Shop, Apotheca Flower Shoppe, and King Lanes Bowling. Seating is limited, so buy your tickets early!
Ms. Pancoast and the Judy Crew will be performing songs from her new CD, “Weird Things Are Everywhere,” as
well as such award-winning tunes as “Swimming in Jello” and “One Big Eyeball.” Known for her ability to get everyone in the audience dancing and singing along, Judy Pancoast delivers a fun and energetic performance for children of all ages—the perfect event to chase away the end-of-winter blues.
Ms. Pancoast has been hailed as “a state treasure” and the woman who has “brought happiness to more children than anyone else in New Hampshire.” She has performed at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, at the White House for President Bill Clinton, and throughout the country. She even took her show on the road to Kenya, Africa, where she delighted young audiences there as well.
A Goffstown resident for 15 years, Ms. Pancoast looks forward to participating in the community-wide celebration being planned for next year. “My career as a children’s musician began here in Goffstown at Maple Avenue Elementary School, and has been supported through the years by the community. I’m happy to be able to give back to a celebration that will include lots of family fun!” says Pancoast.
Ms. Pancoast is donating all proceeds from ticket sales to the Goffstown 250th Anniversary Committee to help support the long list of special activities the committee is planning for next year, including a parade, firemen’s muster, and fireworks. Copies of Judy Pancoast’s new CD, “Weird Things Are Everywhere,” will also be on sale at the event. The eighth graders from Villa Augustina School will host a bake sale at the concert to support their class trip to Washington, D.C., later this spring. Villa Augustina has donated the use of Rosary Hall for the benefit concert.
Organizers say that Colonial Tim, the town crier who is promoting the anniversary celebration around town, may even put in an appearance at the concert. People are welcome to submit pictures of themselves with Colonial Tim to the Goffstown 250th Anniversary website (www.goffstown250th.net) for posting. Just include the names of the people in the picture, the where and when the picture was taken, and email to info@goffstown250th.net.
