Jane Kelly, Falconer, Raptor Rehabilitator, and Educator visits the Weare Public Library

WEARE 17 July 2017: (watch the video and scroll down for more still images) Falconer, Raptor Rehabilitator, and Educator Jane Kelly was at the Weare Public Library providing an in depth overview to many young children and adults.  The room was quite full.

Kelly rehabilitates birds of prey for the Epping-based rehab center On The Wing. She has been interested in bird rescue since moving 10 dead owls off of Rte. 101 over a two-month period, all hit by cars on the shoulder of the highway. She volunteered at a wildlife center where she started in rehabilitation and eventually worked in education with raptors, mammals and turtles. Yearning to gain more knowledge of raptors, she took up the sport of falconry.

Jane has partnered with Tim and Selvi Lampman, of Veterinary Emergency and Surgery Hospital of Brentwood, NH. In their state of the art hospital, injured birds receive emergency care any time, day or night, in hopes of getting these birds back into the wild.

The Weare Public Library hosted this event.  The Library is located at 10 Paige Memorial Lane off Route 114 in Weare, NH. It offers many programs for adults and all ages, including Bridge on the 4th Mondays of the month at 4pm, Chess every Tuesday from 4-6pm, Knit Night on the third Wednesday of the month at 7pm, and a book group on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
