GMSP Executive Director announces he is stepping down 5th June

For Immediate Release

May 24, 2016

The Goffstown Main Street Program is sad to announce that Peter Grigorakakis, our Executive Director, will be stepping down from his paid position with the organization following our upcoming Old Home Day event to focus more of his energy on his other projects. The Board of Directors wants to thank Peter for the extra boost of energy and enthusiasm he has provided to the Main Street Program and our community over this past year. He has assured us that he “moved to Goffstown for a reason!” and that he will continue to be involved in the community and Main Street as we transition forward.

Hi Everyone,
I regret to inform you all that I will be stepping down from my role as Executive Director of the Goffstown Main Street Program following our upcoming Old Home Day event. Work outside of the Program has become too demanding and I will not be able to give the full attention to the position that I would like to give.
Our Board President has drafted the announcement herein on behalf of our Board of Directors for Immediate Release.  Please refer any inquiries to her at I look forward to seeing you all around Goffstown, and to continuing to work to make Goffstown an even greater place to live and work!

Thank you all!

The Goffstown Main Street Program will continue with its plans for Uncommon Art on the Common, our assistance with our Public Library’s Tuesday evening summer programming series and, of course, Goffstown’s Old Home Day on Saturday, June 4th! Unfortunately the Board has determined that given the demands of the impending transition process, the Goffstown Main Street Program is not in a position to commit to any further events or services at this time. Given these circumstances, the the organization has suspended any ongoing fundraising efforts. Therefore, we regret to announce that our Annual Golf Tournament, originally scheduled for June 10th, has been cancelled.

The Board has also determined that the Program will not be invoicing the Town of Goffstown for the Twenty Thousand Dollars voted for at this year’s Town Elections. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank all the people who came out to support our Warrant Article. Your vote of confidence is a testament to our community and the many people who have worked tirelessly over the years to establish this organization, provide valuable services, and, of course, pull off some PHENOMENAL EVENTS for Goffstown!

As we currently find ourselves in the midst of our Old Home Day preparations, the Board does not foresee making any further announcements regarding the transition process at this time. However, I can be reached directly via email at

Thanks again to Peter for all his hard work for our program. We wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors! We’re sure we’ll continue to see plenty of him and his wonderful family around Goffstown!
