Goffstown Post #16 pounded it's way to the State Championship Game with a 19-7 win over defending State Champions, Londonderry Post #27. Goffstown trailed 1-0 after 2 innings and then the bats came alive. Post #16 scored 12 runs over the next 3 innings and opened it up from there. Josh LaFond was 4-4 with a towering home run over everything in left center, he scored 4 times, and had 6 RBI's. Riley Palmer hit his 6th and 7th homers of the year with a 3-run, 400' blast, and then a towering shot off the top of the foul pole in right field. He finished with 4 hits, 3 runs scored, and 5 RBI's. Alex Hickey had 3 hits, Jake Glauser had 2 hits and 4 RBI's, and Mike Bisceglia had 2 hits and 2 RBI's. Ryan Beal had 2 hits and 2 RBI's. Brad York, the team's 9th hitter, scored 4 runs and had his streak of 10 straight plate appearances where he reached base snapped. During the streak, York had 5 hits, 4 walks, and on hit by pitch. Mike Bisceglia earned the win on the mound going 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits. Greg Van Horn pitched the last 2 innings to preserve the win. Londonderry got 3 hits from CJ Flanders and 2 hits from Geoff Fisher. The win ensured a trip to the State Finals for Goffstown who will play Rochester Post #7 for the 3rd time in the tournament for a spot in the New England Regionals.
