GOFFSTOWN - 22 July 2017 (Full Race Video start/finish line, Awards & Still Images are below):  On this date the folks at the Goffstown Historical Society held their Annual "Berry Fest".

What is new this year is the 1st Annual "Berry Classic" Road Race.  Forty-five entries were on hand for the starting line at 7:30am this morning.  The weather was a comfortable 76 degrees with overcast skies.  Winners on the male side of this event were David Beauley of New Boston, #43 with a race time of 34 minutes and 7 seconds for 1st place.  Second place, also a New Boston native was Dick Jardine, #40 with a race time of 38 minutes and 26 seconds.  Third place was taken by Chase Hall 12 years old, #25 of Goffstown with a race time of 39 minutes and 38 seconds.  On the Womens side, 1st place was captured by Jen Larkin, #28 of Weare with a race time of 42 minutes and 16 seconds.  Second place finish was Jean Gallagher, #24 of Goffstown with a race time of 42 minutes and 44 seconds.  Third place finisher was Melissa Rosenthal, #33 of Bedford with a race time of 44 minutes and 19 seconds.

Runners had positive feelings about the course saying it was a rolling course at times and a good run overall.  Many remarked that they would definitely return next year.  Timing was provided by Granite State Race Services, www.gsrs.com.  Of note, one entrant from Sun City, Arizona, Suzanne Boisclair came in with a 27th place finish, the most distant runner in today's entry field.

The Goffstown Historical Society also had their Annual Berry Fest today with an open house offering Strawberry Short Cake, Pizza, a variety of salads and beverages.  Children had a great time enjoying the bounce house outdoors and also were surprised at the large HO train set up at the rear of the museum.  Without the dedication of volunteers and sponsors, this event would not have been possible.  Many thanks given by the folks at the Goffstown Historical Society, "see you next year".
