GOFFSTOWN - 21 April 2016: Goffstown and Bedford fire fighters responded to a large brush fire at the rear of 25 Van Buren in Goffstown this afternoon. The brush fire was between the area of 25 Van Buren and Heberts Auto Salvage Yard.
Goffstown Fire Chief, Richard O'Brien stated the fire was knocked down with the hard work of all fire fighters on the scene. Fire fighters ran water lines from the property at 25 Van Buren about 400 feet into the woods. Bedford companies were also on the scene as well. Once the fire was knocked down personnel worked the perimeter with shovels and water supplied from a tanker truck. About an hour after arrival crews concentrated on areas of underbrush and smoke to ensure all would be extinguished. There were no casualties reported, just a huge swath of land, likely in the area of 500 feet by 500 feet.
