BE SMART, BE WISE - DO NOT VOTE FOR SCOTT GROSS AT ALL!  Leave it Blank on the ballot on March 9th (SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATE)

BSO - EDITORIAL - 3 March 2010 - There are times when it's best to support an issue strongly or not to
provide support for something at all.  My writing today is not about supporting an issue, it is about not supporting an incumbent candidate for Selectman in Goffstown.  Last year at this time Selectman Scott Gross visited my facebook page and stole information on an individual who made a comment on my page.  Scott used this

information on Candidate's night to chastise that particular person in a way that was very unprofessional and in very poor personal judgment.  I promptly removed Scott Gross from my facebook page.  On election day, Scott approached me as I left the polls and said he was very sorry for his actions and it was wrong to do what he did.  I was clear to Scott that what he did was again wrong and I can no longer trust him as a person or an individual representing our community.  The damage was done.  At the School and Town deliberative sessions this year, Scott Gross commended the Selectmen (he is the Chairman) and the Budget Committee for their hard work; work that was long in hours, thoughtful in the best interest of the community for saving money for taxpayers and on, and on, and on, something Scott Gross can do so well at the podium.  However, the School Deliberative session Moderator James Raymond had to stop Scott from chastising members of the Budget committee, not once but twice.  Again, in the following hours he is telling the world that he was sorry and wrong for what he did.  Then  at the Town Deliberative session, again after stating just how well the Selectmen did in keeping cost down and not spending money, he made a motion to increase the budget by almost a Half A Million Dollars which passed by one vote.  On March 2nd I questioned Scott Gross about his actions to 1. Why did he state publicly how well the Selectmen and Budget Committee did and then at Deliberative Session motion to increase spending by almost half A Million Dollars.  2. My question also to Scott was why he publicly chastised members of the Budget Committee to the point where the Moderator had to ask him not once, but twice to stop or stop speaking at all (see the video).  Scott responded in a waltz fashion on question 1. above and categorically placed blame on fellow Board Members of the Board of Selectmen saying it was down to 1 minute the Board of Selectmen decided in consensus to spend almost another Half A Million Dollars of our tax money.  His answer was a clear statement of his willingness to say the Board of Selectmen as a whole were incompetent during the budget process and would rather chose to make a decision at the closing minutes of a meeting to spend more money in defiance of the current economic conditions without regard to the taxpayers of Goffstown.  His "dance" to somehow place verbiage to the public at candidates night in defense of what he did at the Town Deliberative session could have won the top prize on "Dancing with the Political Stars" "to fool the public" did not come clean with me.  Additionally Scott Gross totally ignored his opportunity to answer question 2. above;  why?  I can answer that!  Scott Gross is a very fluent presenter, however what he will not admit to you is that he is a 'back-door" politician with a personal agenda to get what Scott wants at any cost and the hell with anyone else.  It is unfortunate that he can get voted in to another term simply because no one in town stepped up (with the exception of late write-in candidates) to run for a seat on the Board of Selectmen.  Scott will not get my vote because he does not represent what I feel is a good moral character which is a priority for anyone in public office, he will work behind the scenes to belittle individuals and when cornered, come out publicly and brow-beat them, then apologize and move on to his next target of personal greed, all the while enjoying what he's done, thinking so in the best interest of you, the tax payer.  Well, he can't fool me!  I can't vote for him on March 9th and all within the community should leave this portion of the ballot blank and not vote for him at all.  In fact, even though the ballot says vote for "2", I am going to vote for just "1" a "write-in" candidate of my choice and leave the other two boxes empty.  That's called a bullet vote and has twice the power in the voting booth!  Please don't move out of Town Scott.  You have a nice family, it's just that you have no place in representing this Town with your ethics, the way you enjoy conducting yourself.  It's disgusting at best!

UPDATE 3 March 2010

Editorial Update reference to the Do Not Vote for Scott Gross on March 9th BSO Article and a blazing amount of traffic to our site.

Goffstown - 3 March 2010 - EDITORIAL UPDATE:  I thought it prudent to let viewers know about a few things today.  The GoffstownToday.com website had it's highest level of web traffic for well over a two hour period starting just after 10am this morning.  Because of this, it was running a little slow and I took a look at a couple of options to help improve performance.  Because of the video and image content we carry, it is imperative that we continue to do so as it sets us apart from any others in our market.  No one does what we do in our market to bring you stories each week with many images and video content.  The primary reason for slow performance was that over 60% of our traffic was heading to our political pages and to our "Your Letters" pages and a record number of viewers visiting my weekly "Bill Speaks Out" column.  For this I am very appreciative that GoffstownToday.com is producing content of interest each and every week.  My phone rang almost constantly today and the incoming emails about the Scott Gross BSO article was interesting in that people tell me that it's about time someone got up and had the nerve to speak out about an individual who only has one thing in mind!  That one thing in mind is Scott Gross himself and what his personal agenda is.  Not one negative response was received at all, negative that is, regarding it's not true, I should not have written the BSO on Scott Gross this week or stood up at Candidate's night and told people about the real Scott Gross.  So I thank all who visit GoffstownToday.com and truly enjoy what is produced for the local viewing public.  My BSO weekly column is my opinion and facts of what I know and not the opinion of GoffstownToday.com  Starting this coming week, we will distribute our newsletter in three different segments starting at 10am, then noon, then at 2pm.  Our subscriber base grows daily and with over 6,000 visits and growing each month, we are also increasing bandwidth this week as well.   Thanks to all for your patronage.

For viewers, here are some examples of email's received today:

I just want to add my voice to the voices of others and tell you that I appreciate your willingness to speak out against politicians you disagree with.  I really appreciate your website.  You are providing a new level of accountability for our elected officials.

Thank you so very much.

I must give credit, where credit is due, and that was an awesome article.  I don't know Scott Gross, but I do now, and if I lived in Goffstown, I would be very hesitant to vote for him.  Good job Bill.

Boy you sure hit the nail on the head with your editorial.  That is exactly what he does, and that is why I avoid him like the plague.  Finally someone has called a duck a duck!  Nice job Bill.
