FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - 3 June 2016
Dennis Hogan filed to run for reelection as Hillsborough County Attorney
Hillsborough County Attorney Dennis Hogan announced today that he filed to seek another two year term.
Hogan highlighted his successful second term as reason for voters to back him. “The office continues to professionally prosecute every case during this drug-addiction-fueled crime wave. We have improved the capability of the staff through the introduction of a better file management software I began advocating early in my first term. It is a huge step in using information technology to handle the growing work load.” Hogan stated.
“I have raised the professional reputation of the office. New hires have been chosen based upon their ability, leaving politics and connections on the sidelines, thus elevating Hillsborough’s reputation for professionalism” said Hogan.
“In the next term the office will adjust to the Court’s Felonies First initiative. Work presently done by town prosecutors will be shifted to the county. This will require a new approach toward the office’s file intake process which provides us an opportunity to make improvements. The judgement I have shown over 4 years in office prove I am the right candidate to lead the County Attorney’s Office in these times of change,” opined Hogan.
Hogan first won election to the office of Hillsborough County Attorney in 2010 winning 53% of the vote in a three person contest. He was nosed out with 49.5% of the vote in 2012 but rebounded nicely with almost 54% of the vote in 2014.
Nashua elected Hogan as Ward 2 Delegate to N.H.'s17th and last Constitutional Convention in 1984. He represented Ward 2 in the N.H. Legislature after the 1984 election. In a city wide race, Nashua elected Hogan to the Board of Education in 2005 with more votes than anyone on the ballot that day. In 2006, Hogan stepped in to prevented “Cop Killer Advocate” Tom Alciere from becoming the Republican nominee for State Senate District 13 by receiving 89% of the vote from a write in campaign.
