Weare - 3 May 2010: The Weare Area Chamber of Commerce held its first annual Daffodil Day on Saturday, May 1st.
This was the WACC's first ever Daffodil Day in Weare, and luckily the weather cooperated and Chamber businesses offered discounts, free gifts, and a $100 prize for the participant who held the best hand from the Daffodeal Poker! The idea behind the game was for shoppers to visit as many local businesses as possible to collect playing cards. Some participants brought in as many as 16 cards, and Clem Bockus collected the best cards for her winning hand, and will be receiving a gift certificate good for $100 in any of the participating businesses!
We are hoping that more businesses will participate in this fun-filled day of business promotion next year. Its a terrific way to encourage Weare residents to visit shops they've never frequented, and promote local shopping and commerce. The WACC is dedicated to increasing local business exposure to the residents of Weare, and events such as this and our Fall Festival (held in November, and to be located at Center Woods School in 2010) are the perfect way to introduce yourselves to our very own resident customer base!
This Summer the WACC is proud to sponsor the Farmer's Market through a membership and booth that will offer business information, membership packets and of course maps and phone books! We are Your Chamber, and dedicated to increasing local business exposure and commerce to the residents of Henniker, New Boston and Weare.
