Once again, the Union Leader has chosen to provide misinformation regarding the MVMS study. Interestingly, Kathy Remillard was at the meeting where this was discussed. She reported in the paper that we were putting the study off until the fall.
To clarify, we are NOT putting off the study. In fact, I am working on press releases as we speak to gather community members, etc.. We have scheduled dates during the summer for the committee to meet and will be moving forward.
As was discussed at the Goffstown Board meeting this Monday night, the only change that has occurred in the study process, is that MaryClaire and Brian will be working with the committee over the summer to work through the inquiry cycle of data gathering (this will involve reviewing the models of a great middle school, identifying the questions we have and gathering all of the data that already exists). This committee will then identify what data we still need. The consultant will then be identified and hired to gather the data we don’t have, take all of the data available, interpret the data, and provide us with a final report. The timelines continue to be the same as previously discussed- the hope that a final report will be available late fall.
It is unfortunate that our local paper continues to provide inaccurate and misinformation to the public.
Any questions, give me a call!
