To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Mark Bograd; I am a parent of a first grader and third grader at Maple Avenue Elementary School. I have also been a Guidance Counselor for 18 years and my wife has been a Mathematics Teacher for 18 years. With all the negativity surrounding Mountain View Middle School, I wanted to share a positive view of our experience with Maple Avenue Elementary School over the last 3 years. As parents we have been extremely happy with our son and daughter’s experience as students. It has been nothing but positive. They have thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of school. They have grown immensely academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are extremely impressed with Mrs. Pyszka and her staff’s availability to answer questions. We also believe her communication with issues, both positive and negative, are outstanding. We love reading Cubby Corner for fun and pertinent information. My kids are always ecstatic when their classes are awarded a prize for being the Literacy Class of the week. I know all classes get this, but it truly makes them proud and gives them the drive to continue to read. Each teacher my kids have had made learning fun and interesting to the point where we have never had an issue with them not wanting to go to school. As a matter of fact it is just the opposite. They get upset if they are sick and have to miss things going on in school. From classroom teachers to Art, PE, Music, the library and of course lunch, they enjoy every aspect of this school.
I could go on forever talking about how happy we are with how Maple Avenue School has been for us. With only one year left for my daughter, I know she is already talking about how much she is going to miss being there. It is from a parent and educator’s perspective that what is being done at Maple Ave is the perfect foundation for success in the future. A big thank you and applause to the folks at Maple Avenue Elementary School
